Shagbags are now North American made (Mexico) and our ISO certified factory passes several audits a year to be able to produce products that meet Medical/Food contact criteria. We are very proud that Shagbags are 100% ethically manufactured so close to home.
All custom order bags and new style bags are printed using water soluble ink.
Shagbags are made completely out of DuPont® Tyvek™. The only other material used for creating a Shagbag is the thread for stitching. To make Shagbags 100% recyclable, even our garment label and drawstrings are made of Tyvek™!

The
Shagbag™ story began during the 2007 holiday season, when partners Alli
Oliver and Stefanie DiBenedetto made it their mission to refuse
retailers bags when doing their Christmas shopping. They each saved
about 50 bags, but found it very difficult to use the reusable bags on
the market at that time. They were cumbersome, not attractive and
definitely not stylish.
Not wanting to compromise their style any longer, Alli & Stef set out to create "the perfect reusable shopping bag". They
thought of all the characteristics their perfect reusable bag would
have. It should be portable, practical, soft, lightweight, crunchable,
washable and eco-friendly. It would be as stylish as their outfits; an
easy to use bag that is practical and usable for all shopping, not just
at the grocery store. Four weeks later, the "Shagbag" was born.
With
it's great style, portability and accessibility, a Shagbag™ is the
